Welcome to Family & Children’s Place

We protect children, families and communities from violence, abuse and neglect and help them heal.

working-families-mother-daughter-863581At Family & Children’s Place, we provide individual, family, group and school-based counseling to help trauma-impacted children and families, supervise parent-child visitations, help at-risk families stay in their homes, assist new parents to better engage and bond with their newborns and work with students to improve their grades and relationships.

Through onsite collaborations with the Crimes Against Children Unit of Louisville Metro Police, Child Protective Services, U of L School of Medicine and the Commonwealth’s Attorney office, staff at our best in class Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center stops and helps children and families through the trauma of sexual abuse.

Last year we helped nearly 5,000 children and family members regain hope.

If you witness or suspect child abuse, take action immediately. Call the Kentucky Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-752-6200 or the Indiana Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-800-5556.

Eat wings for kids

Wild for wings? Then make plans to visit Buffalo Wild Wings at 1055 Bardstown Rd., Monday, Sept. 21. The restaurant has pledged to donate 10 percent of profits to Family & Children’s Place from food sales to anyone who mentions the agency while dining. Who doesn’t love wings and who doesn’t want to help and protect children from abuse?

Donate your magazines

Wondering what to do with your old magazines? Once read, you can donate them to the Kosair Charities Child Advocacy Center, which uses the periodicals in its observation and waiting rooms. The KCCAC uses different types of magazines for each space, so magazines for families and specifically for children are very helpful. Questions? Email info@famchildplace.org.
