Amy, age six, was referred after her mother called the authorities in distress, suspecting her husband of molesting the child. Our Child Advocacy Center provides a safe, child-friendly environment, bringing together every service a child needs during this trauma. When our interviewer spoke with Amy, she discovered the father might have abused her just hours earlier. An immediate, non-invasive medical exam in the next room confirmed the child’s testimony. Community resources were drawn together and now Amy is safe. With the help of therapy, Amy and her mother have a plan to recover and restore hope for a healthy and normal life.
