 In 2004 alone, the services of Family & Children First touched the lives of nearly 3,400 families in this community. We are able to provide them with critical services only because of the caring and involvement of a great many generous donors and volunteers. Family & Children First is a major provider of services for disadvantaged families in our community. An astounding 74% of the families we served this past year reported incomes of under $15,000, with the median income of only $6,015.

We are accredited by the Council on Accreditation (LINK TO THE COA WEB PAGE) and, through our Continuous Quality Improvement process are committed to continuous quality improvement to assure that we are providing our clients with the most effective, highest quality services.
Here are just a few examples of our service outcomes:
- Last year, 97% of the babies whose families received help from New Parent Support Service stayed current on their immunizations, and 99% achieved developmental milestones.
- Of the 186 families assisted through Homeless Prevention Service, 81% are out of immediate crisis for homelessness, and 75% assumed legal responsibility for housing.
- Of all the families being served by Family Counseling, 99% established specific goals, and 89% made demonstrable progress toward those goals.
- Eighty-eight percent of the families who participated in Family and School Service graduated from the program, with 80% of children showing at least short-term improvement at school.
- Our Child Advocacy Center provided service for 777 children and 921 caregivers.
