"Dine Out for Families"
Maetta

Maetta, a mother of two, came for help with anger as a requirement for entering a woman’s chemical dependency treatment facility. The victim of horrific sexual abuse from a young age, she started using drugs at nine years of age. The pattern of violence repeated itself in Maetta’s adult life and she continued using drugs and anger to numb her pain. Suddenly, she hit bottom, nearly dying and almost losing her children. Therapy became a reclamation point, in which feelings and experiences she had buried poured out. Last spring, she celebrated one year of sobriety, and is on the road to providing a healthy family life.
