 Thank you for your interest in serving the families of this community through Family & Children First. While all our counselors are professionals who are certified in their fields of specialty, there are always a number of other opportunities available for men and women who wish to donate their time and talent. These may include helping with a variety of special events we host throughout the year, holiday gift collections for clients, assisting with mailings and other clerical tasks, working on fundraising projects such as our auction, and many others.

Title of Project: School Uniforms
Project Description: Families on the verge of homelessness are unable to afford school uniforms as children grow. During each year, dozens of children who are in the midst of a family's economic crisis become "outsiders" in their schools because they cannot conform to standardized dress patterns. Donations of uniforms for boys and girls of all elementary ages, in particular, are needed. Volunteer help to identify new or recycled clothing is critical at all times of year.

Title of Project: Child Abuse Response Efforts
Project Description: Procure essential items for the Child Advocacy Center Ð this region's only trauma facility for child victims of sexual abuse. Items are required for up to 1,300 children annually. The project seeks small quilts, stuffed animals and fresh clothing for victims. All goods must be new and of varied sizes. The typical victim is 6 years old, but all ages are helped to recover through a medical exam, mental health care and protective services.
